GUEST MANUAL

Welcome to our home. This is our refuge from DC where we recharge in nature on the Coan Rivah. Our Rivah house and land didn’t look like much 5 years ago. The house and land were both neglected. We could barely find the front door. Nature was winning! We saw past the neglect and years of growth and knew we could create something beautiful for our family.

The pace of life is slow and quiet, neighbors are welcoming, and folks wave you first through an intersection. Seafood is same-day catch and service is friendly. We go crabbing off the dock and have raised oysters...yumm.

We have 1.5 acres of land on the Coan River. You are welcome to explore, play and hike around. Can you spot the Bald Eagle nest?

BABY GATE
Grab the top of the gate and with your thumb pull back the little button. With the button pulled back, lift up, push or pull the gate to swing open. It will rest in the open position if desired.

THERMOSTAT
The thermostat is programmed and changes seasonally. You can adjust as needed.

MASTER BATH SHOWER
To turn on shower, turn on water to desired temp. There is a ring where the water comes out of the tub faucet. Pull this ring down. Water will stop filling the bath and come out of the shower.

TV (streaming services only)
Living room: Offers 4K streaming. This is connected to the WIFI. If you have subscriptions to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Video, etc., you can access the apps here and login. We often leave our accounts open for GUEST use. Please use GUEST account.

Living room TV allows for Smart-casting, so feel free to use your own streaming services and Cast it to this TV. It also has a SOUNDBAR which can also be used in Bluetooth mode.

All 3 bedrooms have smart TV’s.

Master BATH SHOWER (repeat instructions).
How to get the shower to work??!! Turn water on and adjust temp. There is a ring to pull down where the water comes out of tub faucet. Pull the ring DOWN to cut flow and direct to shower.

DIRTY LINENS
All sheets, comforters, and towels have been washed. Please strip the bed when you are leaving and leave everything in the laundry room/bathroom on the floor.

KITCHEN
Please feel free to use any utensils, plates, bowls, etc. There is a Keurig machine with K-cups for coffee, as well as tea and hot chocolate packets. Bring your favorite blend or try some of ours.

** please make sure fridge/freezer door are closed before you leave.

CHILDPROOF CABINETS
We try to “unlock” all pantry baby locks for our guests. If you want to engage them for your family, go ahead. The magnetic key to unlock is located to the right of the sink. The magnet on the cabinets is located above the cabinet knobs, sometimes a little up and to the left. Hold the magnet key against the cabinet doors and rub it around until door becomes free. You can engage or disengage these door locks from the cabinet door once it is opened.

The pantry has pasta, canned veggies, sauces, flour, sugar... You may help yourself to our pantry. We ask, "If y
