“Arrived late (thanks to AA). Called the host who waited until nearly 23:00 for us to arrive and gave us the key. Room was perfect for us - cleaned every day - very comfortable. The shower was very large. Their restaurant was terrific-outstanding food and VERY BUSY in August! Breakfast was casual continental with all the cappuccino you can stand. Looked forward to it every morning. VERY EASY to walk everywhere - groceries 10 minutes and restaurants all over the place. Gelato all around. Jeni's is OK, but Green Ice Gelateria on the corner of Via Lido and Il Gelato around the corner on Via Michele Bianchi are AWESOME. There is a piazza across from Il Gelato where you can sit and people watch. The hotel is in a great location for la passeggiata. Catch a sunset that will take your breath away. Hotel is across Corso Mediteranneo (SS18) to about 10 beach clubs. We enjoyed Blue Garden and Il Pesce Spada. Il Pesce turns into a club every night around 20:00- no dinner though. VERY difficult to find any gay life in Scalea; but plenty of hopefuls :-) Liked it so much we're looking into buying an apartment to (maybe) rent out. GRACIE DI TUTTO HOTEL GENVOA!!”
