In 2004, we visited the enchanting region of Monte Amiata in Tuscany for the very first time. It was by chance, but we instantly fell in love. With the nature, the quiet villages, the mountain air, the people, the traditions... and of course, the food and wine.
We kept coming back, year after year. Every time we arrived, we felt it again: this is where we belong. In 2017, we bought a small holiday home in Castel del Piano. As the years passed, we got to know the region more deeply. The locals, the rhythms of the seasons, the olive harvests, the chestnut festivals: everything made us feel more and more connected.
The desire to stay here never left us.
In 2023, we followed our hearts and moved permanently from the Netherlands to Italy. In the countryside of Montelaterone
(municipality of Arcidosso), we found our dream: an olive grove, a chestnut forest, and two historic buildings full of charm and character.
This is where we live now, in peace and quiet, surrounded by trees and the gentle sound of a small stream flowing along our land.
Every autumn, we produce our own olive oil and chestnut flour. And with great joy, we now share this special place with guests who want to escape the rush of daily life and experience the beauty of Tuscan living.
