What to expect

Paris is an amazing city, full of art and history. Just by walking its streets or roaming its museums, you will discover a lot. But you might miss out on some incredible stories. As a gay Parisian native and a professional tour guide, I’ll help you explore Paris through a unique lens: that of its gay history.

I offer private tours for 2 to 6 people: (a unique price for the group is specified below)

- Male esthetics at the Louvre (2 hours; 150€ + museum tickets)
In the largest museum on the planet, you’ll discover how male esthetics were ennobled by art throughout the ages. We'll admire the idealized Greek male nudes, discuss the influence of Leonardo da Vinci's favorite model (and lover), and see how male representations have navigated between rough masculinity and quiet androgyny.

- The Marais, the all-time fashionable district (2 hours; 150€)
Today the Marais is THE hot spot of the gay community. But how did it become the lively area it is today? As we go back to its origins you will get to see the old aristocratic mansions, discuss the history of the Jewish community’s long-time presence, and understand how a vibrant gay life blossomed in this one-time decrepit neighborhood.

My passions

Born in Paris to an American father and a French mother, I grew up feeling that art and history are really part and parcel of the city’s soul. It has taught me a lot, and I'm happy to share what I've learned.

Furthermore, because of the incredible artwork from all periods and places that its museums have in store, and because for many years after the French revolution there were less restrictions on homosexuality than in most of Europe, it is also the perfect place to delve into the various aspects of gay life through the ages. That is a topic I am passionate about.

Apart from a guide, I am: an amateur comedian, a tireless traveler, a bad but enthusiastic horse-rider.

I love: sitting in the grass, grinding my coffee, listening to Jazz while driving.

My certifications

A business school graduate, I worked for ten years as a project manager in corporations and NGOs. Then I decided to make a career change, and undertook a one-year training to become a certified professional tour guide. I have guided English, Spanish and French speaking visitors around main Parisian attractions, and this year I will be guiding in the Normandy region as well.
