The Brussels Games are back this year for their 22nd edition, from September 12 to 14. Organized by BGS (Brussels Gay Sports) the LGBT sports association in the city of Brussels, these games are a sort of mini World Out Games. The event brings together athletes from around the world , from all levels, both men and women in various competitions : badminton, futsal, swimming, tennis and volleyball. For those who do not like the competition, the association will also organize a fitness workshops and a hike. This sporting event is very friendly and open to all without discrimination of any kind. Participants will be spending, partying and meeting people from around the world in a healthy atmosphere for the body and mind!
The BGS (Brussels Gay Sports) association exists since 1991. It was originally a band of buddies playing volleyball. Today it is an association of over 750 members, with activities in various sports: badminton, body condition running, ballroom dancing, futsal, swimming, hiking, tennis, volleyball, water polo, yoga and even a choir.
Before opening the games, a welcome party will be held on Friday evening in the old covered market of Saint-Gery. The games themselves will be held on September 13 all day. During the evening following the competitions, the Brussels Games Party will be held in Madeleine hall on the theme "We are all made of stars". Over a thousand people are expected there to dance, have fun and relax around a good Belgian beer.
A "Lazy Sunday" will be organised to close the event. A brunch will be offered to athletes at Thon EU Hotel. Finally in the afternoon, a visit to the capital of Europe will be organized in order to discover the city.
