The itinerary of The Cruise’s next edition, the european gay cruise, is now announced: after leaving Barcelona, the Sovereign will take her 2,324 passengers to discover the coasts of Italy from 18 to 25 July, with stops in Sicily (Palermo), in the Aeolian Islands (Lipari), on the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento before returning to Barcelona. In short, a full week of dolce vita!
The cruise will depart on July 18 at 6PM from Barcelona, the Mediterranean gay capital. After a first night and first day at sea, the Sovereign will dock at Palermo on July 20. The passengers will be able to discover the streets and palaces of the Sicilian capital but also to experience the wonders of the local cuisine. On the next day, the boat will sail between the spectacular Aeolian Islands, Salina, Filicudi, Alicudi, Panarea and Stromboli, before stopping off Lipari.
On July 22, the Cruise will stop in Amalfi, in southern Italy, to discover the fantastic scenery of the Amalfi Coast, cliffs, ledges and tiny sandy beaches, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Last stop of this Italian ride: Sorrento, the land of the Sirens, in the Bay of Naples, just off Capri.
This 5th edition will the biggest ever since the Sovereign is the largest ship to host The Cruise since 2011. With a maximum capacity of 2,324 passengers in 1,162 cabins, this ship is a mid-size ship, that remains at human scale. With 12 passenger decks, she has a centrai 5-storey atrium, 4 bars including a rooftop bar, 5 restaurants, a theater, a spa, two pools, two jacuzzis, a naturist solarium, a large gym, a climbing wall or a jogging track.
Faithfull to The Cruise, their heels well secured to the deck, they will host this very festive week and ensure live entertainment on board: Koka, Nickie Nicole, maman et ses filles and La Diva Live. Every evening at sunset, from 6PM to 9PM, a tea dance will whet your appetite before the great theme nights, midnight to sunrise, with Europe's best DJs. For those who already want to work on their costumes, here are the themes this year: Uniforms, Where do you come from?, Masked Ball, Fetish, Disco, Super hero, Ladies, Neon and White.
Last year, 1,400 passengers had boarded the 2014 edition, coming from 62 different countries, between 19 and 68 years old, including 204 singles and 18 women (see the pictures).
