The nightlife and partying excess of gay Berlin can take its toll, but thankfully the locals love spas and saunas, so there are plenty to unwind in and recharge your batteries. But, if you prefer to sweat it out in a gym, there are also many options.
Schöneberg’s Apollo Sports Club is a very gay gym in Berlin and offers an energizing hydromassage that will alleviate stress and prepare you for a night on the town.
Holmes Place on the Kreuzberg and Neukölln border is a modern, stylish – and expensive – choice, very popular with the gay community. The nearby McFIT chain is the low-cost option, a big hit with the local arty gays and Turkish lads.
Spas, steam and stretching!
For a unique spa session, visit the Liquidrom’s large salt water pool and nude saunas. Soothing music is pumped underwater while moonlight shines through the window.
Alternatively, try the Stadtbad Neukölln, a stunning pool, sauna and steam room from the early 1900s with amazing architecture and day passes. Meanwhile, if you’re staying at the Axel Hotel Berlin, the Axel Wellness center has a fitness area and sauna.
Need to stretch out? You can drop-in on a gay yoga class in Berlin courtesy of Yoga Boys Berlin. They run three classes a week in their beautiful canal-side studio.
