Some tips about Malta: It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples dating as long as 6000 BC. and the Hypogeum which is the only known prehistoric underground temple in the world. Other places of interest include; the great blue lagoon, Valletta, Mdina, and the island of gozo.
Regarding nightlife, paceville which is located on St. Julians is filled with various bars, restaurants, clubs including 2 gay clubs: (AXM and Michelangelo).
