Street level two bedroom fully furnished apt in owner occupied duplex, a 3 minute walk from the Metro (Silver and Blue Lines)
Apt has all the conveniences for a short visit or a long comfortable stay and is only occupied when guest are in residence.
The Apt has a queen size bed in the larger bedroom and a full size or double in the smaller bedroom, in the living room there is a full size futon. The apt is completely furnished with a large choice of cooking utensils and small appliances (coffee maker, rice cooker, waffle maker, blender & hand mixer) besides the standard fridge, gas stove and microwave, however there is no dishwasher. There is also a washer/ dryer (plus detergent) and ample linens and towels plus hair dryers, first Aid Kit and toiletries etc. There is also a work station.
Guest are welcomed to use the gas grill in the enclosed
backyard.
For those who prefer to cook, there are several groceries a short distance away by Metro, including Harris Teeters and Safeway at Potomac Ave Metro, plus Trader Joe's directly opposite the Eastern Market Metro Station.
Coffee, teas and light breakfast refreshments provided.
Great collection of books on DC, plus ample brochures provided to assist guest. Yes, it has WIFI.
There is street parking readily available near the apt, guest are provided with a temporary visitor pass which allows them to park (street) near the apt for extended duration without fear of being ticketed.
Incidentally I live in the upstairs apt, if you consider that a plus, as I enjoy sharing my knowledge of this great city and what it has to offer.

It's a no frills neighborhood, with a Denney's Restaurant, a 711 convenience store, a newly opened Shrimp Boat plaza and the usual takeout shops however the best reason to stay at my apt is the proximity (a 3 minute walk/013miles/021km) to the Metro (Blue & Silver lines) and major bus routes (96 & 97,) to Capitol Hill/Union Station and the trendy U Street Corridor and the U8 to the DC Eagle (4 minutes).
The following destinations are all on the Blue and Silver lines, no transferring required! Estimated time by Metro from the Apt to the following destinations:
6 minutes to Eastern Market: Restaurant District of Capitol Hill and Barrack Row with ample restaurants and bars plus the historic Marine Barracks.
8 minutes to Capitol South: the Library of Congress, the Capitol Building and the Supreme Court.
14 Minutes to the Smithsonian Station: Freer Museum, Arthur Sackler Gallery and the African American Museum.
18 minutes to Farragut West: the White House, the newly reopened Renwick Gallery,DAR Constitution Hall and ******** is also the nearest station to the World War ll Memorial.
