If you are looking for a homely feeling with all the luxury you need, right in the centre of Amsterdam, we offer you this place of comfort.
Feel welcome!
This apartment is located in the city centre east. Nearby Artis Zoo and the famous beer brewery ’t IJ. Within 10 minutes by tram from Central Station (and 30 min. by train/tram from Schiphol Airport).
Because we are also living here sometimes, this house has everything you need: a luxury kitchen, a bright & cosy living room and a romantic bedroom. The kitchen has big stove, a dish washer, a quooker tap (instantly boiling water) for the tea-drinker and a Nespresso coffee machine for the caffeine addict. The apartment is situated on the 3th floor in a modern building, but has a view on the old typical Amsterdam houses.
Outside, you are in an old shopping street. Here you'll find an Amsterdam atmosphere in a quiet neighborhood. The street has an authentic feeling and was awarded in 2015 for best shopping street in the Netherlands. This is probably because it has only nice terraces and little shops, no chainstores. For the big shopping, you go to the busy neighborhoods in the middle of the centre.
We have lots of information for you if you want to explore the city. And please read our house rules, if you are curious of sleeping here.
Thank you and feel at home,
Jan-Willem & Guido

You want to explore the city? Just 100 meter from the apartment you can rent a bike. Or take the tram, which stops just outside the apartment. It will bring you within 10 minutes to the ‘Rijksmuseum’ with the Rembrandt paintings or to the Leidseplein (Leidse Square) with pubs and theaters. Or get off a bit further for the Anne Frank House. If you want to see more than just the highlights, stay seated and get out at ‘De Hallen’, a hot spot with movies, lots of little food stands and pubs.
Walking is the best way to explore the city: just 5 minutes from the apartment you find a windmill, which is now a beer brewery. Here you can eat and drink, outside or inside. After that, you just stroll into the city centre: go to the famous ‘Wallen’ (red light district, 30 min walk), de Dam (Royal Palace, 37 min). Or take the tram, if you want to be quick - it stops in front of the house.
Amsterdam was called the gay capital of Europe in the days when it was not allowed to love someone of the same ********. One of the oldest cafes has re-opened: cafe ’t Mandje. It is very small and the interior is still the same for the past 90 years. The owner would cut off your tie and put it on the ceiling, which are still hangin there. Just some other gay bars: The Queens head (cosy), Queers, Prik (lay back and good cocktails), Taboo, Soho, Reality (multi culti). For dancing: Club NYX or go to one of the special theme parties located in different places. But maybe you like it a little bit more rough: then Spijker, Cuckoo’s Nest or The Web is something for you. Wanna show your underwear? In Club Church there is every Friday or Sunday dancing in your underwear.
For the cultural gay-thing: every first Wednesday of the month there is a gay movie in cinema Pathe (ask us about the program). Don’t throw away your ticket: after the movie you get the second drink for free in the gay pubs. Next to the Westerkerk (Wester church) you will find the gay monument and a gay kiosk (Pink Point) for all the information I forgot to tell you.
See? You really need the time to explore Amsterdam.
Let our apartment be your home, where you can rest in a king size bed. If you have questions: just ask. We will help in any way we can.
