The trip starts when you enter this picturesque historical cobbled narrowed streets neighborhood, that looks like a medieval village. A neighbourhood that invites you for a walk, unveiling its magical corners. A place where tourists mix with typical Portuguese people, like the old ladies that stay by their windows watching the neighborhood life. Or even the ones that sell the typical (and delicious), Portuguese liqueur "Ginginha" (I recommend) on the streets or even from their windows. A place that is known to be Fado’s ( the deeply felt Portuguese typical music ) cradle and therefore also very Bohemian. Alfama is really well served by Fado houses, bars, restaurants where one can enjoy the Best Portuguese flavors. It is also well served by all public transportation.
This Central neighborhood is at a walking distance to Lisbon's hot spots. It is very close to Lux famous nightclub, to the Feira da Ladra Flea market (Panteao), Baixa Chiado, Graça, Mouraria. Rossio, Cais do Soudre(Pink street) and even Praça do Comercio where our gay Pride takes place in June ( we never miss it)!
The building's main hallway takes you back to the 1700s. With its high ceilings and tall walls covered with original blue tiles, and mosaic floor. Followed by a wooden staircase with engraved handles.
Going up to the apartment (on the 4rth floor) you will encounter a colorful ecologically hand-decorated apartment. Decorated using second hand, refurbished, and hand made from scratch pieces. It also has beautiful murals painted by us depicting some of Lisbon's landscapes. Almost all divisions have windows apart from the inner double room. This room is connected to the main room by a little window and has a closed skylight that brightens it up. It has a beautiful mural depicting the Castelo de Sao Jorge.

The neighbourhood itself is an attraction. It is one of the most ancient neighbourhoods right next to Lisbon's first castle: Sao Jorge. It is still untouched with its old narrow streets that give the feel of an old village as from the beginning of times.
It is full of life, bars, cafes, restaurants, places to listen to fado. It has music everywhere you go.
Within a few minutes, you can be at the castle, you can go to the main viewpoints where you get the most dazzling views of Lisbon from above.
One of the most fantastic and biggest flea market Feira da Ladra is right around the corner ( on Tuesday and Saturdays), next to Lisbon's Pantheon.
The Se Catedral is also close by and on the way, there is the amazing Miradouro de Santa Luzia with its original blue tiles and fantastic Buganviles that just give it a few more colours.
You are also very close to Lisbon's most visited commercial area of Baixa Chiado , where fashion stores and beautiful buildings are waiting for you.
Not too far, you will find the Pink street at Cais do Soudre, where diversity is a, must go!
Bairro Alto is another party place with diverse gay bars such as Tramps and other secret spots ( will spill it all when you book with us)
Another famous and amazing place that is very close to the apartment is the fantastic Lux night club. The one that belongs to John Malcovich.

You can only smoke by the window of the dining room, ONLY and at the buildings shared inner patio that is open air.
pets are allowed with an extra fee of 25 Euros per stay and of course, any damages ( accidents can happen) will be of full responsibility from the owner.
Extra guests pay 20 euros per night, and no unknown visitor is allowed for your safety.
There is no curfew you can come and go as you please but always with respect to the neighbors.
Extra towels are rented, extra bed sheets are rented and we do not ret towels for the beach
