A short and scenic walk away is St Katherine's Dock which has a selection of Sports Bar, bars and restaurants. Take the walk along the canal and catch the local ducklins and signets swimming along.

In the opposite direction is Shadwell Basin. A scenic riverside walk, with a park - great for doing outdoor workouts or people watching. Further along is Limehouse which hosts more scenery and a great restaurant (Kirvem Turkish).

Canary Wharf is but a 10-15 minute DLR journey, with which it brings the bars and restaurants of West India Quay, along with the shopping mall in Canary Wharf itself.

A bit further on the DLR is Greenwich, which hosts the Royal Greenwich Park, National Maritime Museum and Cutty Sark boat. Local, is traditional Goddards pie & mash.

Other local places within walking distance include Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, Aldgate, Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane, Old Street and Shoreditch.
