Thank you for considering a stay with me during your upcoming trip to Mexico City. I am a gay travel writer and I love to meet travelers, show them a little about the city, and have some fun together.
My apartment is not a party house, but it is a social place where my friends like to gather for food, games, and movies. Guests are always welcome to join us and meet new people in the city. We will become your new friends and family :)
My apartment is in a quiet neighborhood between Condesa and Roma, in an area called Escandon. I can walk to Condesa in 10 minutes, Roma in 20 minutes, and Rosa in 35 minutes. There are two metro stations within a 5-minute walk from the apartment, so getting around is convenient and fast.
During your stay, you will have a private bedroom on the second floor of the apartment. The bedroom has a matrimonial (double) bed, television, closet, sitting area, nightstands, lamps, Alexa, and plenty of USB ports for charging devices. The bed is a memory foam, and most guests believe it’s the most comfortable bed in Mexico. I use a feather mattress cover, high-quality sheets, and a fluffy cotton duvet. You will be sleeping on a cloud after a day full of play.
You will share the rest of the house with me: Living room, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and gym. I am extremely clean so there will be no issues with sharing space with me.
The living room has a television with every streaming service you can imagine. I have dozens of board games, cards, trivia, twister, and truth or dare cards. So there is plenty of entertainment.
The kitchen is fully equipped and you are welcome to use anything you would like. You can join me and a couple of guys making cookies and cakes one night with a glass of wine. (yes, we really do that)
The gym is small with a bench, bowflex weights, pullup and dip station, maxiclimb machine, medicine balls, balance balls, trampoline, resistance bands, and other accessories. The gym floor is padded.
I respect the privacy and cleanliness needed for a shared bathroom. I limit my time in the bathroom so you never need to wait to use the restroom. And I clean the restroom a couple of times a day, including disinfecting.
There is a dog in the house (a pug). She goes to school in the afternoons, so she is only home on weekends and late afternoons on weekdays. She has access to all the common areas but not any of the bedrooms or gym.
If you like to stay with a fun host who makes you feel like you are home, then you will love staying with me. I love to hang out with guests and have fun, but I also like giving them some privacy to explore the city alone. Either way, I will make sure you enjoy your time in Mexico City, whether touring the city or chilling out at home.

In the same block of the apartment, you will find a couple of small stores for snacks, drinks, water, or any quick item you might need. There is a small convenient store one door down from the apartment. There are several cafes within one or two blocks of the apartment. In the evening, street food lines the area for quick tacos, hotdogs, hamburgers, tortas, and more. Some street food in the area is open 24 hours daily, while others are open in the evening and close at 3 AM.
Every Tuesday, if you are here, there is a large street market in front of the apartment. The market offers everything from fresh fruits and veggies, to freshly made cheeses, tacos, clothes, and even toys. The market opens at 10-ish and closes at 4-ish. Nothing has a reliable schedule in Mexico. The market is a tianguis, which is a market that travels from neighborhood to neighborhood on certain days of the week. The market day in Escandón is on Tuesday.
Just a 5-minute walk from the apartment you will find Mercado Escandón, a traditional farmer’s market open every day. The area around the Mercado offers many shops to find anything you might need. There is also a small park with an outdoor ‘Urban Gym’ that is free to use if you want to catch a little exercise during your travels.
Just a couple of blocks from the house is a large shopping center with many food options and a movie theater. Within a 15-minute walk is the World Trade Center, an area with some shopping, plenty of restaurants, cafes, and a grocery store.
There are several ATM bank machines within a block of the house. The house is between two metro stations for easy access to the subway/metro/bus system.
Escandón is the most centrally located neighborhood to access the most-visited parts of CDMX.
Walking distance to Condesa: 15 minutes
Walking Distance to Napoles: 15 minutes
Walking distance to Roma Norte: 30 minutes (15-minutes on Metro)
Walking distance to Zona Rosa: 40 minutes (20-minutes on Metro) – This is 2.5 miles (4 KM) from the loft.
If you love walking, the walk from the loft to Zona Rosa must be done. You will walk through Condesa and Roma while enjoying the art deco architecture under tree-lined streets, boutique shops, and cafes.

There is a small dog in the house, please be aware of her location when entering and exiting the apartment, she will run into the street. Make every reasonable effort to make sure not to allow her to get outside, do not linger in the doorway with the door open, please.
I have had a guest invite a friend to my apartment once and I woke up with my laptop, wallet, money, and credit cards gone the next morning. For this reason, guests may not invite a 'friend' to the apartment under any circumstances.
There is no smoking allowed in the apartment.
Those are the three 'no' rules in the apartment. But for the 'yes' rule... You must have fun and enjoy your stay in CDMX!
