On one of my many trips around the world I have also found a winter escape in Uruguay - not that winters are bad in Lisbon (especially compared to other places), but the region of Punta del Este in Uruguay reminds me a lot of my Portuguese Summers...only that Summer in Uruguay is in December-March.
