Vertigo Hostel

Hostel Vertigo Vieux-Port is located just a 5-minute walk from Marseille’s Old Port. Its central location makes it the perfect base for discovering everything the city has to offer.

The nearest beach is around a 15-minute walk away, while Le Panier, Marseille’s oldest neighbourhood and the iconic Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica are both around 20 minutes away on foot. Be prepared for a bit of a climb up to Notre-Dame de la Garde, but the panoramic views over Marseille and the Mediterranean are well worth it, especially at sunset!

Vertigo is also close to metro, bus and tram lines, making it easy to explore further afield, from the incredible Parc National des Calanques to Marseille’s beaches, surrounding coastline and Provence.

We offer a range of accommodation, from private rooms to shared dormitories of up to 16 beds, spread across several buildings surrounding our large, leafy courtyard. It’s the perfect place to relax in the sun, have lunch or meet other travellers over a drink.

Guests have access to a shared kitchen, as well as several chill-out and communal spaces. A laundry service is also available.

Bathroom facilities are located within the dormitories, with several toilets and showers available in our larger 6-, 8- and 16-bed dorms.

Our reception is open 24 hours a day, so our team is always there to welcome you and help during your stay. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out is at 10 am, but you’re welcome to arrive earlier or stay with us after check-out. You can leave your luggage in our free luggage room and continue enjoying the communal areas.

Eat & drink at Vertigo

Start your day with our €7 breakfast formula, served from 8 am to 10 am.

Our Vertigo Café is open every day from 8 am to 6 pm, serving coffee, drinks and food throughout the day whether you want to grab breakfast, work for a while, relax or meet other travellers.

In the evening, head to our bar and restaurant, open every night from 6 pm to 2 am, for food, cocktails and drinks in a lively atmosphere.

Rooms and communal areas are equipped with air conditioning, heating and Wi-Fi.
