I fell in love with Lisbon over 30 years ago and settled here (from the UK) in 2019. My first visit to Lisbon was inspired by a gay journalist writing about the 1974 Portuguese revolution and the opportunities that created for queer liberation and a new gay scene. Now I share my love of Lisbon by introducing people to the modern gay scene and the amazing queer history of this fantastic city. We'll meet in the garden square of Principe Real; Outside number '18, Praça do Príncipe Real, ********, Lisbon'; by the children's play corner. We are easy to find – just book ahead and look for me with the Rainbow Umbrella on the day! Total distance: 3.8km(2.3miles). ~3.5 hours. Age:16+. Suitable for solo-travellers.

'Alex's Lisbon Tours & Events' is insured, and registered with Turismo de Portugal. I have a Master’s degree in Queer Cultural Studies (University of Sussex). Before I moved to Lisbon I worked in LGBTQ community services and queer health research in Brighton.
