After the parade wraps around 9:30 PM, the entire community flows into Montrose for an all-night bar crawl that is the best part of Pride for me personally. The party I always recommend to someone looking for a great Wednesday in Houston is karaoke night at JR's Bar & Grill - the venue's karaoke stage runs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and the courtyard fills up with a crowd that is effortlessly fun. On weekends, South Beach Houston runs themed party nights with DJs that consistently deliver a proper dance floor experience. Pearl Bar on Washington Avenue has a packed weekly event calendar - DJ nights, drag shows, concerts, and steak nights throughout the week - that makes it worth checking its schedule regardless of when you arrive. The Montrose Country Club, which opened in 2025, has brought a new concept to the gayborhood: a daytime pool party and drag brunch operation with a 65-foot heated pool and cabanas, running weekend day passes that have quickly become a Houston institution. Crystal Nightclub in Midtown runs party nights with guest DJs that attract a crowd looking for serious dancing in a venue that feels more club than bar.
