🌈 Arbër Kodra is one of Albania’s pioneering LGBTI activists, known for his bold voice and heartfelt dedication to human rights. His journey began with fear — coming out to his mother — but her unconditional love turned into a powerful public allyship, making her the first Albanian parent to speak openly about having an LGBTI child. 💖👩👦
✊ With over a decade of activism, Arbër has volunteered and worked with major LGBTI organizations like Aleanca LGBTI, PINK Embassy, and more. In 2013, he founded OMSA (Open Mind Spectrum Albania) — fighting for visibility, empowerment, and family education for queer people in Albania.
🏳🌈 He co-organized Tirana’s first Gay Prides (2014 & 2015), and became the first Albanian board member of the ERA Network for Western Balkans & Turkey. As a speaker, he’s shared stages from local panels to the 1st US Gov-sponsored LGBTI Regional Workshop in 2012 — alongside his mother.
🎓 Arbër holds a Master’s in Intercultural Communication & Tourism, speaks English, German, Italian, and a bit of Spanish 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇮🇹🇪🇸
