This spacious self-catering retreat is ideal for large groups of up to 12 guests, with 6 bedrooms. The property features a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining area, a fantastic private bar, and a BBQ. Outside, a captivating balcony with stunning valley views makes it the perfect base for your next Cumbrian escape. Nestled on the outskirts of Lyth village, at the heart of the Lake District, Ridgestone is pleased to host you at the Lyth Valley Country House, which offers an enchanting escape. Since 2003, we've been welcoming guests to our two-acre haven, nestled amid breathtaking scenery, complete with a meandering river.

The country house caters to groups of 2 to 12 guests, assuring a tranquil retreat in the serene Lake District ambiance.

With six bedrooms, the country house serves as an ideal backdrop for family gatherings and weekend get-togethers. You'll have unfettered access to a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining area, a bar, a barbecue spot, and an expansive balcony that presents sweeping vistas of the picturesque Lyth Valley.

The Rooms:

THE ROBIN - Large triple rooms are located on the first floor and have an awesome view, large windows and a lot of space inside. There is a large double bed and two sofa beds, so suitable for a large family or group of friends to stay. As well as a well-dressed bedroom, this room also has a beautifully designed bathroom with a walk-in shower and a feature bath.

The Robin room is the ‘family room’ and is the largest room out of the nine available, a sofa bed can be set up in the Robin if needed. Please let us know prior to arrival if this sofa bed or a cot is required, and these shall be prepared in anticipation of your stay. The Duck is also a great choice for a family, as the room features a queen-size bed and a single bed.

THE DUCK - A great choice for a relaxing holiday for families with children or a group of friends. This huge triple room features one queen-size bed and 1 single bed. Also, there can be 3 single beds in a room for up to 3 people

Two of the rooms can be twinned, these are the Owl and the Squirrel.

THE OWL - This room can be set up with Twin beds or a large double bed. The well-dressed room gives a feeling of homely comfort, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the Lake District. The beautifully tiled bathroom boasts a large bath and walk in shower. The bathroom will be equipped with robes, towels and toiletries.

THE SQUIRREL - A beautiful room that looks out over the Lyth Valley and the country house gardens. Featuring a comfortable double bed and tiled bathroom. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. The bathroom will be equipped with robes, towels and toiletries.

THE STAG - A beautiful room that looks out over the Lyth Valley and the country house gardens. Featuring a comfortable double bed and tiled bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and features bath. The bathroom will be equipped with robes, towels and toiletries.

THE HARE - A beautiful room that looks out over the Lyth Valley. Featuring a comfortable double bed. The room has been beautifully dressed, giving an elegant feel for a relaxing stay. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and is equipped with robes, towels and toiletries.

Pets are welcome, however, we ask that pets are only allowed in the lower level of the house, not the bedrooms. The lower level consists of the bar, the snug, the dining area, the balcony overlooking the valley, and the entry hall.

The six rooms found up the main staircase at the Lyth Valley are the Duck, Owl, Squirrel, Robin, Hare, and Stag.

Up to two cots can be provided at request, the Robin Room is our go-to 'family room' and most appropriate for a cot set up due to the floorspace. There are also high chairs available.

Linens, and towels for all guests, are provided along with tea, coffee and soaps in each room.

The check-in time at Lyth Valley Country House is between 3 PM and 5 PM. If you plan to arrive after 5 PM, please make prior arrangements, as our reception is not staffed during those hours.

Parking is available on-site for guests to use and can accommodate up to ten cars.

After a warm welcome upon arrival, you are free to use the house grounds and facilities at leisure during your stay. Please note that Lyth Valley does not have a lift or designated disabled access.
