Barrio Escalante: Walk day and night the blocks just north of the building between Calles 25 and 35, Avenidas 1 and 13. This is the epicenter of San José's gastronomic revolution.
Barrio La California: next door to Escalante, rougher but very cool bar, clubbing and restaurant scene. Within 10 minutes walking distance.
Barrio Amón: historic neighborhood known for its architecture from the late 19th and early 20th century, with buildings of the most varied styles: Victorian, eclectic, neoclassical, Neomudéjar and others. Within 15 minutes walking distance.
Theaters: Teatro Nacional, Teatro Melico Salazar, Teatro la Aduana. Within 30 minutes walking.
Museums: Museo Nacional, Museo de Jade, Museo de Oro
Mercado Central: This is the authentic San José eating and shopping experience. It's a loud and crowded maze of shops that hasn't changed much since it was established in 1880.
Restaurant tip: Buchon Cantina is a sophisticated tapas restaurant that serves great wines in a beautifully restored old house. 10 minute taxi ride.
Gay scene: Bar 13, Club la Avispa, Club el Teatro, Club C3 Lab, Club Venue, Sauna Hispalis. All with a 10 minute taxi ride.

This is our second home and a place where we hope to spend more time (the winters) in the future. We are not smokers, we don't like the smell so we don't want people smoking in our place.
The apartment is quite new and we have put thought and care in equipping it with nice furniture, decorations and appliances. We want you to enjoy it but please treat it kindly.
LOCKING THE FRONT DOOR: The front door it is not immediately locked when you close it. Please remember to lock the door each time you enter or leave the apartment.
NO SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed in the apartment and it is also not allowed in the common areas of the building. If we notice that the apartment smells like smoke after your checkout, you will loose your security deposit.
DISPOSING OF WASTE: There's a trash can in the kitchen and another one in the bathroom. You will find trash bags under the kitchen sink. On the hallway, opposite to our front door there's a room with a trash shoot. Please make sure you dispose of all waste properly bagged. It is forbidden to throw glass through the trash shoot. Glass and other recyclables must be taken to the recycling room on garage level S1.
NOISE: Please be considerate to our neighbours. Refrain from playing loud music or making other loud noises after 10 PM. Maximum noise level allowed is 65 decibels. In the event of a complaint by neighbours, the front desk is equipped to measure if this level is exceeded. If the situation persists they may call the police.
GUESTS: the maximum occupancy of the apartment is 3 persons. Parties are not allowed. Should you want to invite guests you may do so. Maximum number of people in the apartment at any one time may not exceed 6 persons. All guests must be announced at the front desk to gain entry into the building.
PARKING: The apartment includes an assigned parking space on Parking Level 2. Please do not park on any unassigned spaces. There are only a limited number of guest parking spots. These may only be used if authorized by the front desk.
