“The hotel is in a very good location - about 5 minutes walk from the centre along a canal and 10 minutes walk from the station the other way. Because of Covid the reception only operates from 8 am to 5 pm. I checked in late, but the instructions I received were clear and easy to follow. The description of the hotel mentioned a bar and hot tub, but both of these were closed - the bar because of the restricted opening hours and the hot tub because of Covid restrictions. Breakfast was available, and there was a reasonable selection of food. The room was clean and tidy - all of the rooms have names not numbers which is a neat feature. I loved the mural above the bed. The only criticism I have is a lack of space for drying out clothes - it does rain quite heavily sometimes. I managed OK, but if there were two of us in the room, there might be problems. ”

Unveiling the Hotel

Hotel do Mercado features elegant and colourful rooms in central Aveiro. The property is just 250 metres from the Fórum Aveiro shopping centre and 190 metres from the riverside.

The guest house’s accommodation is composed of double or twin rooms, all with air conditioning, flat-screen cable TV and a private bathroom. Some of the units feature a balcony and all benefit from free WiFi access. Walls decorated with paintings allusive to Aveiro are also present in some of the rooms.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sehr guten Lage - etwa 5 Gehminuten vom Zentrum entlang eines Kanals und 10 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof in die andere Richtung entfernt. Aufgrund von Covid ist die Rezeption nur von 8 bis 17 Uhr geöffnet. Ich habe mich spät eingecheckt, aber die Anweisungen, die ich erhalten habe, waren klar und leicht zu befolgen. In der Beschreibung des Hotels wurden eine Bar und ein Whirlpool erwähnt, aber beide waren geschlossen - die Bar wegen der eingeschränkten Öffnungszeiten und der Whirlpool wegen Covid-Beschränkungen. Das Frühstück war verfügbar und es gab eine angemessene Auswahl an Lebensmitteln. Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich - alle Zimmer haben Namen statt Nummern, was ein originelles Merkmal ist. Ich liebte das Wandgemälde über dem Bett. Meine einzige Kritik ist der Mangel an Platz zum Trocknen von Kleidung - es regnet manchmal ziemlich stark. Ich bin gut zurechtgekommen, aber wenn zwei von uns im Zimmer wären, könnte es Probleme geben.
