Our Story: A journey back to the roots. Swapping an award-winning country pub and guest house in the city of Bath, UK, for the sun-drenched peaks of Polopos. We are Nigel & Fede, and since 2025, we have been on the adventure of a lifetime. What began as a trip to Spain to spend time with Fede’s family became the start of a new chapter: restoring a piece of history in La Alpujarra Baja of Granada. Our story in Polopos runs deep—Fede’s grandfather once served as the local town doctor. We received the keys in January 2025 and have spent every moment since then renovating and breathing new life into this former B&B. As a couple, our goal has been to create an inclusive, warm, and proudly gay-friendly sanctuary in the breath-taking Sierra de la Contraviesa, where every traveller can feel entirely at home. Our journey was followed by Channel 4’s “A New Life in the Sun” which aired in January 2026 and is available on catch-up—come follow our journey for yourselves
