Gay Quito

Weiterlesen

Ecuador has quickly cemented itself as an LGBTQ hotspot in South America, and its capital, Quito, is firm assertion of this. Just four hours away from Florida by plane, Quito is easily accessible for most travelers, and if you’re looking for something that blends a welcoming attitude with grandiose relics of Spanish colonialism, this place is for you. But Quito’s tolerance of LGBTQ culture goes beyond an open attitude. Gay marriage has been legal in Quito since July 2019, and LGBTQ individuals and couples have had protections under the laws of Ecuador since 2008.

Gay Areas of Quito

The most vibrant and hottest clubs in gay Quito are in the Mariscal district. The action in the Mariscal District takes place on the main streets of Avenida 6 Diciembre and Avenida Amazonas. At night, more than 25 gay clubs and bars turn the Mariscal into a celebration. The area surrounds the serene Parque La Carolina within walking distance from other area gay bars Quito has to offer. The park like atmosphere can easily be navigated by foot.

Nightlife and Beyond in Mariscal

Those that stick around after dark will experience the true vibrancy and spirit of gay Quito. One of the most satisfying gay bars Quito has can be found at La Disco Bitch. This bar and dance club can be found on Avenida 6 de Diciembre. Another popular place to dance the night away and find a hard body to wake up with in the morning is Kika. Kika is located within walking distance from other area gay bars Quito has. Be sure to check out this area during Quito’s annual Gay Pride Festival in June all culminating with a massive party at Kika.
