Der Kathedralenpalast in Reims

REVIEW Le Palace Cathédrale de Reims 16 Rue des Moissons, 511000 Reims, France May 7-9, 2023 Overall, we would NOT recommend this small studio to anyone. We found the posting on Misterb&b very misleading. It was only after we had made the booking and payment that we received the actuals of this studio. Yes, the studio is closely located to the center of Reims and the cathedral in a quite area with good carparking opportunities. The studio has a small kitchenette, bathroom, flat screen and Netflix and wifi connections. Quite essential I would say. There was a nice small welcome bottle of champagne in the refrigerator, as well as a small gift... a notebook, pen and package of cards in the gaycolours. These gaycolour gifts were the only gay thing in the studio. Being in our early sixties, that was a but too childish. This studio could have been adverted anywhere, also in RB&B etc., but had nothing to do with the nice charms and/or atmosphere of a misterb&b place. We never met the owners. Communication went via ********. and the key was handed over by the concierge upon arrival. The photo used in the advert on misterb&b is the eyecatcher, but just the façade of the property and has over 60 appartments/ studios behind it, set up along marble corridors and inner gardens.  The place feels claustrophobic, less than 25 Sqr meters.  There is no bedroom or double bed. The couch has to be opened to get something like a bed. After one night already we had backpains after a very bad night on that couch/bed. Hardly any matrass in it and you sleep on an iron framework with some thin couch material on it. Really not acceptable. After complaining to the owner after the second night we got a story that a bed was ordered but had not yet arrived. Well than one does not offer this place on misterb&b or tell the truth.  No hot water in the shower in the morning ! We had to shower in, and shave with cold water. The owner had forgotten to switch on the hot water boiler. Once fixed via ******** exchange it could be fixed, but needed a couple of hours to get warm water. The next morning all okay.  There was no spare toiletpaper. This was also quickly fixed after a ******** message.  We found it difficult to get the television working. Some high level instructions were sent upfront, but too little for a complex system with various remotes etc.  There were only 3 Nestlé cups for the coffee; enough tea though. Sorry for having to be honest, but we felt mislead. Still we had a great time in Reims and the champagne district. But the owners should really be honest and as first priority get rid of that couch and invest in a proper bed or excellent couch/bed. Kind regards, Jacques & Ronald
