First - don't be turned off that Mark's place is not near a Metro stop. The C61 is a crosstown bus that goes right by his place. The service is frequent and runs 24/7. You can pick up the westbound bus (to Tenleytown) at the Columbia Heights Green Line station *or* the eastbound bus (to Brookland) at the Cleveland Park Red Line station. If you want to get your steps in, it is about a 20 minute walk to his place from Columbia Heights. [I did it; it was fine.] So there is a reason why I am spending some of the review content on the ease of getting to his place - the place...and the host...are exceptional. I was visiting Washington DC to attend the Freedom 250 events (no judgement!). Communication and check in were very easy. It is a beautiful space. The descriptions are accurate. I enjoyed meeting Mark and our conversations. My bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The house also has central A/C, which I look for, as window units are so noisy. I like how there are different rooms on the main floor that serves different purposes. The neighborhood is also very peaceful. The fireworks didn't end until after 12:30am. I was happy that I did not have to hire a car to get to his place - public transit was fine - saved a lot of money. His place is great if you want to focus on computer tasks...or read. The WiFi is great. There is a TV in the guest room, if you want to watch something, but I like it when the host and I are not watching television. It allows us to have a good conversation. You will not be disappointed staying at Mark's place. I like that it was off the beaten path. you will, too! Thanks, Mark, for a great stay!

Ich hatte einen großartigen Aufenthalt bei Mark. Das Zimmer war geräumig, mit einem sehr bequemen Bett und viel schönem Tageslicht, was es sehr einladend machte. Mark war freundlich, kommunikativ und sorgte dafür, dass ich während meiner Reise alles hatte, was ich brauchte. Check-in und Kommunikation waren einfach und reibungslos. Ich würde einen Aufenthalt hier definitiv empfehlen
