Sauna 65 is Bielefeld’s established gay sauna and one of the principal men-only meeting places in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. Located at Niedermühlenkamp 65, slightly away from the city’s busiest shopping streets, it combines traditional sauna facilities with cruising spaces, a sociable bar and a large, private outdoor area. The venue is designed primarily for gay and bisexual men, although its official policy welcomes all adult men regardless of sexual orientation. Women are not admitted, and every visitor must be at least 18 years old.

The atmosphere is more relaxed and local than glamorous or club-like. Sauna 65 attracts men from Bielefeld and the surrounding region, with different ages and body types represented. The crowd can vary considerably depending on the day and time. Weekday afternoons may be quieter and better suited to visitors who prefer an unhurried experience, while Sundays are usually the busiest. The central facilities include a Finnish sauna and an erotic steam room heated to approximately 38–42°C. Sauna 65 remains open in 2026. Its published hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Monday is normally closed. The standard day ticket costs €27, with a reduced rate for students and pupils who provide valid proof. Admission after 8 p.m. is advertised at €17 except on promotional or special-event days.
