Is there a Tel Aviv Gay area? No, not specifically, however that should not stop any potential LGBTQ travelers from visiting. Despite not having an actual gay area, Tel Aviv (known as the white city or the bubble) is very gay friendly. In fact, some maybe consider it the gayest city in the Middle East, and it is often promoted as a gay destination with a Tel Aviv Gay vibe.

Sightseeing
With beautiful beaches and historic landscapes and buildings, Tel Aviv is a terrific starting point for anyone wishing to do some great sightseeing. The holy city of Jerusalem Israel’s capital, is just an hour away. Here visitors can explore the Western Wall, The Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the Temple Mount Mosque Al Aqsa. Also nearby is the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on Earth and is known for its healing powers. Close to the Dead Sea, and on the summit of an isolated cliff, is the Masada fortress. Several circular routes guide you to various parts of the fortress.

Gay Personalities
If you still aren’t convinced about how gay friendly Tel Aviv is, just look at some of its top world-famous gay personalities. Eliad Cohen, promoter of the Papa Party and DJ Offer Nissim are just a couple of the high profile names. Nissim was even asked by gay legend Madonna to be her official remixer.

Gay Venues
Looking for some fun in the sun? Then head on over to the Hilton Beach, Tel Aviv’s official gay beach. There you’ll see plenty of tanned and toned bodies running around, and if you need to cool off from all that excitement, the water is close by. Looking for a great gay party, then head to Forever Tel Aviv, FFF Shirazi, Beef, Arisa or any gay party during Tel Aviv Pride. Those wanting to experience some local hot spots can stop by Evita’s bar, which is Tel Aviv’s oldest gay bar and considered a must for tourists.

Gay Events
Established in 1997, Tel Aviv Gay Pride is a week-long celebration during Gay Pride month. The Pride Parade is among the most attended events, and is also the largest in the Middle East. But the fun doesn’t stop just because summer is over; the Winter Gay Festival offers some exciting Winter Pride events, as well as the Jewish carnival Purim in February.
