Nice is the fifth most populated city in France. It is a beautiful area to visit, and is a very gay friendly community. Nice is home to many iconic gay establishments, and in 2013 France legalized gay marriage. In addition to the businesses, there are annual festivals and parades that celebrate the LGBT community. If you are ready for a vacation, make sure to consider this wonderful city.

Getting the Most Out of Nice’s Gay Scene

One of the best places to visit while in Nice is the neighborhood of Vieille Ville. It is home to a large concentration of gay friendly and gay-owned businesses and near  the Garibaldi square. Some of these include the LGBT lounge Gossip, Wayne’s Bar & Restaurant, and Le Bar Bitch. Gossip is a very popular spot to hang out and get some good food until midnight. Wayne’s is known as the “Busiest Bar on the Riviera” and Le Bar Bitch is a great place for younger people.

Some other iconic businesses in gay Nice are Le Kult, Le Malabar, and Club Le Six. All three are great places to get a drink and have a good time. Le Kult and Le Six are both open late, so you can have a good time all night. Gay Nice also has Point G, the clothing and accessories store, where you can find leather, latex, harness, condoms, lubricants, and other adult toy items. Before going to the club at night, you can get something to eat at one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Some great options include La Panice, Acchiardo, Au Petit Gari, and Café Marche.

Gay Nice also has some events for the gay community. Each year they host the Pink Parade. This is the annual gay pride parade, which is at Promenade des Anglais along the seafront in July. There is also the Lou Queernaval, which is part of Nice’s 17-day carnival. One last LGBT specific event is the In & Out film festival for gay and lesbian movie watchers.

While visiting Nice, you will need somewhere to stay. Thankfully, you will find several gay-friendly hotels in the area. Le Negresco is a luxury hotel located on the seafront that is very LGBT friendly. There are several budget and mid-level hotels if you are traveling on a budget. Some of these are Hotel Ellington, AC by Marriott, Hotel Lido, and Hotel villa La Malouine.
