More than just another gay bar, Switchboard – Bar.Café.Kultur is one of the pillars of Frankfurt’s LGBTQ+ community. Located at Alte Gasse 36, in the heart of the city’s traditional queer nightlife district, this welcoming café-bar has been bringing people together since 1988. It was created by local gay groups in partnership with AIDS-Hilfe Frankfurt, the city’s HIV/AIDS support organization, and continues to combine friendly hospitality with a genuine social mission. Switchboard is normally open Tuesday through Thursday from 7 pm to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday from 7 pm to 1 am, and Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm.
