Gammazita

Gammazita is a beating heart of grassroots and queer community life in Catania, a self-organized cultural association and social space set in a reclaimed corner by the Castello Ursino in the historic center. More community hub than conventional bar, it's a warm, leftist, genuinely inclusive spot where you can grab a drink among a relaxed crowd, often with live music and outdoor seating, and where the city's LGBTQ+ scene gathers: it regularly hosts Catania Pride events, queer book presentations and community gatherings, and is consistently recommended as the place to start a queer night out in the city. Volunteer-run, mission-driven and welcoming to all, it's a lovely, authentic slice of alternative, queer-friendly Catania.
