Eagle Amsterdam

Eagle Amsterdam is a true landmark of the city's leather scene, a three-floor gay bar on Warmoesstraat with roots stretching back to the late 1970s, in a stretch of street that's been the heart of Dutch gay leather culture since the country's first leather bar opened here around 1955. Ground level is a manly, welcoming bar and lounge where everyone's genuinely at ease; head up to the second floor for a proper cruising area, or down into the basement F-Deck darkroom for something more intense. Live DJs spin Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, keeping a laser-lit dance floor going alongside the cruising, and the crowd, though it skews leather and denim, is open to all comers, later and cruisier than the bars across town on Reguliersdwarsstraat. Recently crowned Best Gay Fetish Club in Europe at the 2025 X-Awards, it remains the essential first stop for anyone chasing Amsterdam's leather heritage.
