Just one hour by train from London, Brighton, on the south coast, is a major LGBT hub. The beach here is stoney, so not the most comfortable, but still a great option. Also a nude area. The city is full of gay bars and cafés and well worth a day trip.

Literally the best seaside town in the country. It's warm, you don't get sand in every orifice, the gay village is a stone's throw from the beach and the gulls are bigger than your mate's 2-year old toddler! The vibe here is a bit San Francisco; very chilled but more grounded.
