Marty's is Andersonville's classy little martini bar, an upscale, intimate, Toulouse-Lautrec-styled lounge, all gilt-framed mirrors, mahogany and French flair, that's long been an LGBTQ+ favorite on the North Side. It's built around genuinely excellent, generously poured martinis and classic cocktails (the Black Velvet, a proper Cosmo, the blue-cheese-olive "Dirty Bird," a Pineapple Upside-Down) served by a convivial, much-loved bar team, with a nice outdoor seating area for warmer nights. Small and cozy, so it fills up fast, it draws a diverse, easygoing crowd that skews increasingly queer as the night goes on, "like gentrification in reverse", making it a stylish, low-key place to start a gay night out in Andersonville. Now owned by the local 2Bears Tavern Group, it's a genuine neighborhood classic.
