Bongo Java East

Bongo Java East is an excellent, laid-back coffeehouse in the trendy Five Points neighborhood of East Nashville, Music City's most progressive and queer-friendly district. An offshoot of Nashville's oldest coffeehouse, it doubles as the city's first board-game café, with a curated library of more than 700 games free for customers to play (and game coaches on hand in the evenings to teach the rules). The 100% organic house-roasted coffee is genuinely good, backed by local craft brews, bagel sandwiches, pastries and a full breakfast and lunch menu, all in a welcoming, community-minded space that, as our hosts note, always seems to have plenty of LGBTQIA+ folks around. Chill, friendly, and refreshingly un-corporate, it's a great spot to settle in for hours over great coffee and a game in gay-friendly East Nashville.
