Green Lantern is one of Washington's best-loved neighborhood gay bars, hidden in an old carriage house in a downtown alley just off Thomas Circle. It has been part of the DC scene since the early 2000s and sits next to the site of the Krazy Kat Klub, a 1920s speakeasy remembered as an underground gay gathering place. Two floors of lounge space host daily happy hours, karaoke, drag, and 80s nights, plus the popular Thursday "Shirtless Men Drink Free" hour. Friendly staff and a mostly male crowd of gay, bear, and leather regulars make it a classic stop.
