How gay-friendly is your city? What’s gay life like there?

Over summer, Gallipoli is called "the Mykonos of Italy". That’s because of the throngs of gay guys who come to visit from all over Europe, and the combination of amazing beaches, blue sea and gay events at night.

What are the best gay events that take place in your city each year?

Gbeach is the best place to be during the daytime. I also recommend staying until 7pm/8pm for the aperitivo. It’s amazing, aperitif is a must when you’re in Italy, wherever you might be in the country. And if you’re in Gallipoli you must experience it on the beach. During the evening, there are many different clubs and bars which open up along the beach and all of them are gay-friendly.

We only have 48 hours in your city. What can’t we miss?

The seaside at gay beaches Gbeach in Gallipoli and Torre Uluzzu near Porto Selvaggio, Gallipoli's Old Town, Lecce, S.Maria di Leuca and Otranto. Just rent yourself a car and hop from one place to the other. But I can assure you, you’ll wish you could stay longer than just two days ;)

What’s your favorite gay place to grab a bite for lunch? A nice dinner?

For lunch go to Solatio at Torre Suda, and for dinner settle into Le Macare in Alezio. Both these places offer super cheap menus and delicious local food.

A gay place for brunch on weekends?

My favorite is Taverna del Porto in Tricase, Porto. It’s gay friendly and you can enjoy some of the best morning views.

Best gay place and day for a cheap beer or happy hour?

Punta della Suina beach or Fico d'India in front of Torre Uluzzu, there you can enjoy the most amazing sunsets.

We’re ready to party! What are the best gay clubs?

Picador Village is definitely the most popular and crowded gay party in the area. For sure, you’ll meet people from all over Italy and Europe here.

What are the best alternative gay bars and clubs where you live?

Led Bar is a cozy gay bar in Gallipoli. All the bars in the Old Town are perfect places to enjoy the sunset, and meet new people.

Can you share a secret or little-known place to visit in your city?

I suggest visiting three small amazing villages in the region: Ruffano, Specchia and Tricase. You will be super impressed!

Where you can we get the best view of Gallipoli?

From the ancient wall of the Old Town and from my beautiful terrace of course! ●
