Graeme·5·Aug. 2018· "A fantastic traditional French auberge run by two wonderful men. It's deep in the Ecrins National Park and to get there you go to "beyond" then head for the very back - it's remote! Fantastic walks from the doorstep with typical dramatic alpine botany and scenery.
Nicolas is your flirty friendly host and he deftly juggles plates and people at each mealtime, while Julien slaves away in the kitchen producing fantastic meals that are way above the usual heavy-duty alpine fare. Sadly we did not get to meet Julien but Nicolas was engaging and helpful despite his limited English and my limited French
They get pretty booked up in the school hols so we ended up with a twin room rather than a double but its really what could be expected from an auberge (hostel).
Go if you love nature and the alps. Don't go if you'd expect to nip into Grenoble for a quickie before dinner."

I recommend his barbecue (quality local products) in his atypical and charming little hut, we had a very pleasant evening.

Carlos was very communicative and the fellow guests in the house were very friendly. The only issue was with the community gate entry system. Other than this highly recommended."
