Old fashioned elegant house in the commercial and residential district of via Gioberti, close to the center but quiet and exclusive. Fine restaurants, pizzerias, bars, supermarkets and any commerce in the neighborhood. The quarter was ******** in the second part of XIX century, was the center of the activity of the famous group of painters called "Macchiaioli" corresponding to the French Barbizon school.
Via Piagentina, around home, is today just where river Affrico once flowed. Now it's a boulevard full of dense trees and plants, a nice and fresh place where walking to reach the close Arno river (5 min.).
This part of Arno is well equipped with restaurants/pizzerias and gazebo lounge bars. Along the Arno, 10 minutes walking from home, also is the "Piscina Comunale Bellariva - Nannini", with a 50 m long swimming pool at reasonable prices and, during the Summer, a wide lawn available to suntan.
Good connections with Highways, buses (6A, 6B, 14A, 14B,14C, 3, 31, 32) and trains. Many parkings around. The closest station is Firenze Campo di Marte.
Bike renters in the neighborhood.
Massimo and Stefano sometimes teach their very special and creative Italian cooking to their guests... ;-)
Massimo and Stefano, both speaking several languages, try to give the guests a best staying in Florence, helping, suggesting, showing to them a different aspect of the life in Tuscany, just different than the "normal" tourist point of view. At last staying at their bears and breakfast is living next to a gay family, where "gay" means not only "homosexual" but also "bright".
Massimo's natural jams and liquors, all home made with fruits, flowers, herbs, could be a surprise for the guests as well as the little balcony full of tropical plants and aromatic herbs. Some plants lovers and collectors could have some seeds or cuttings of his Frangipanis or cactuses, if it will be the right season... Massimo, who also is a photographer, could also make a photo service to the guests, if they want.
