Martinique: flower of the Caribbean. This has been the island's slogan for many years and it is true. Martinique is a French island known for its beautiful vegetation and beaches.

As with many of the Caribbean islands, homosexuality is often taboo. However, Martinique has several charming little places for gay visitors, including the Residence Orcéa in Sainte-Anne and the Gîte Carbet in Trois-Ilets, which caters exclusively to gay guests.

Martinique gives importance to its beaches. Located in Sainte-Anne, there is a gay friendly beach for naturists where thousands of homosexuals come to sunbathe every year.

For those who want to visit the island of Martinique, here are some tourist attractions not to be missed during your next vacation.

Take a walk in Fort-de-France
In between beaches, take the opportunity to visit the city of Fort-de-France, the main city on the island of Martinique, on foot. One of the discoveries to make is without a doubt the Schoelcher Library where you will find an exhibition on Paris dating from 1889. Not far from the library, a visit to the Savane garden will make you discover a peaceful and pleasant place. Why not take the opportunity to have a refreshment!

Discover the traditional handicrafts of the first inhabitants of Martinique: the Caribbean Indians. From generation to generation, they have kept their traditions and their techniques to make tourists discover them. Rum
The island of Martinique is rich in sugar cane. Its rum is considered one of the best in the world with its own label of prestige and controlled origin. There are many distilleries all around the island which you can visit. One of the most famous of the tourists is undoubtedly the Saint-James distillery and the Rhum Clément. Nothing will stop you from bringing back a bottle of rum for your return home.

Discovering museums
If it's a little too hot and you're looking for fresh air, go to one of Martinique's museums. Even though the island is very small, Martinique has many museums for all tastes. For those who want to know more about the history of Napoleon, the Musée de la Pagerie presents a beautiful exhibition in his image. The Paul Gauguin Museum Art Center presents the work of the French painter in an exclusive exhibition.
