Club 3000 : The biggest sauna in Brussels

The Club 3000 is an institution of Brussels' gay life and has undergone many changes over the course of its long history, and is now the largestgay sauna in Brussels. We went to meet Pierre, the owner of the establishment, who introduces you to the Club 3000 and its history.

misterb&b : When did Club 3000 open?
Pierre: Club 3000 was born in November 1993. Before that date, it was a triplex cinema where I played exclusively porn movies bought in Hollywood, with a room of gay X movies, another of bi and SM X movies and one of straight X movies. I bought the building in 1980, and it was a neighborhood movie theater of some sort, with only one large theater playing censored straight films. It had been created in 1953, and had started by showing light films with Brigitte Bardot, naked in the shower. But the building itself dates from 1860!

When I took over the business, the staff was exclusively female. Over time it was replaced by men. Then, the one and only room was divided into three rooms, to be able to show gay and straight films. The 35mm projectors were scrapped to make the first video projections with Barco projectors. They were projectors with three big lamps. Each one cost about 1 300 euros when it broke! And they often broke! The video quality was mediocre but it allowed me to show the first censored gay films in Belgium. One day, I decided to show the full versions, which almost bankrupted me because the establishment had to close for a month. Until there was a rebound and finally the porn was accepted in all Belgium. All this I wrote in a book that will be released soon, "The Animal Within".

Then, seeing that the X-Rooms were all closing down in the United States, I started to transform part of the complex into a gay sauna and I even sacrificed my apartment above it to build the bubble bath with a view on the train station! The city of Brussels was fiercely opposed to this project, especially the bubble bath on the 4th floor. This had never been done in Belgium, whereas in Los Angeles it was normal. I had a lot of constraints which slowed down the finalization of my project. But since the last 5 years, the sauna has reached its maturity and has become the biggest in Belgium, with American style concepts.

mrb&b : What are the main assets of Club 3000 ?
Pierre: It is very spacious, 850 square meters. There are 24 private rooms with double beds, TV, Wifi everywhere, it is open day and night 24 hours a day. It is constantly changing and adapting to the times. Modern facilities, sauna, two bubble baths, steam bath and there are harsher corners, with even a uro and sling room. And we must not forget an outdoor terrace of 120 square meters in the sun, a winter garden and a cozy bar. Video clips of the best recent pop songs play continuously and are projected throughout the complex. There are several small lounges where everyone can meet with friends.

mrb&b : Who are your customers?
Pierre: We are a real universal sauna, mixing all races, religions, ethnicities, ages, fantasies, it is the rainbow sauna, which wants peace in the whole world. Many people have found love and serious relationships in our sauna. The clientele is loyal, kind, and always ready for action, without going around in circles for hours and without any pretensions. They come to spend their weekend, relax, have a massage, unwind, talk to our staff and make friends, but also have a great time.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Davio puts on a crazy atmosphere at the bar where people dance in their underwear.

Three times a year we host big events, with hard sex shows, performers, a big buffet, champagne and good music to end it all in a big foam party. The next such party will be on December 7, 2014, for the sauna's 21st anniversary. And we must not forget our so nice, beautiful and exotic team and our professional and certified masseurs who are there to make us fit.

And I still hope to add more attractions in the near future!

mrb&b : When do you advise to come ?
Pierre: It depends on your taste. At every hour of the day and night the atmosphere is different, that's what's extraordinary! I especially like the night. There is a very hot atmosphere, with an almost disturbing sensuality so strong. There are a lot of beautiful guys parading around and ready to jump on you.

It's a business I'm proud of because it's an expression of love, Kundalini, chakra opening and unification and openness to all the peaceful and open-minded people in the world. If our whole society was one big Club 3000 there would be no more violence!
