Sauna Batofago

Projeto SB is a long-running gay sauna and cruise bar in Rio's Botafogo neighborhood, open since 2003 and recently reinvented under new management, with revamped events and a new crowd. Set in an untouristy pocket near Sugarloaf, it packs in a heated pool, hot and cold showers, dry and steam saunas, a bar and lounge, a smoking area, a video room, individual and group cabins, a fetish space, a darkroom, and a massage room with resident masseurs. It runs a lively calendar of theme nights, from bear "Covil dos Ursos" to interactive shows, and keeps a strict no-rent-boys policy, drawing a friendly, mostly local Carioca crowd of regular guys popping in after work or before a night out.
