GIAM

GIAM, short for "Gorgeous I Am," is one of Rome's most historic gay parties, born in 1995 and still the reference Saturday-night gay event in the city three decades on. Its summer home is EUR Social Park, a huge open-air venue spread across more than 2,000 square meters with a main stage, LED walls, food and drink, running every Saturday from mid-May to mid-September with free entry before 11pm. The rest of the year, it moves to an indoor venue for the colder months; in the past, this has included the storied Testaccio club L'Alibi, so it's worth checking current listings for the winter location. Wherever it lands, expect international DJs, dancers, and spectacular drag performances for a warm, multi-generational LGBTQ+ crowd — a true Roman institution.
