Baños Finisterre is one of Mexico City's classic gay bathhouses, an old-school steam-bath institution in the San Rafael neighborhood, just a few blocks from the San Cosme metro, and has been open since 1954. Not explicitly gay and free of any pride flags, it's nonetheless a long-standing rendezvous for the city's gay men, with a general steam room where most of the action happens, a dry sauna, showers, private rooms, and a veteran masseur whose massages are widely praised. Rough-and-ready rather than polished, it draws men of all ages and is busiest early on Saturday and Sunday mornings, when it doubles as an after-hours once the clubs close.
