The Bronx

The Bronx is the oldest gay shop in Amsterdam, holding down its wonderfully central spot on Kerkstraat since 1976, just around the corner from Leidsestraat and steps from the popular gay nightlife at Spijker Bar and Club Church. A recent full renewal transformed it from a classic gay shop into a broader erotic lifestyle store, but the friendly, straightforward welcome remains, plenty of dildos and vibrators (the entire range of "fcking machines," as regulars put it), plus leather, rubber and toys of every stripe. Open daily and genuinely non-judgmental, drawing a diverse crowd well beyond its gay roots while staying a firm favorite in the LGBTQ+ community, it's the kind of no-nonsense address every gayborhood needs—and where locals happily point you when a neighboring shop's staff feel a little too watchful.
