Café Keerweer has been a household name in Rotterdam's gay community since 1985: a small, camp, and colorful cabaret bar that's one of the city's great late-night institutions. Cozy and unpretentious, it's known for its plenty of drag queens, live acts and beloved Dutch singalongs, with famous names having graced its little stage over the years, and it really comes alive towards the end of the night and on weekends, staying open until 6am when other places have long shut. Considered the ultimate gay melting pot of Rotterdam, it welcomes a mixed gay-and-straight crowd with open arms, and throws its biggest parties during Pride (complete with its own Keerweer parade) and Dutch holidays. One tip: after midnight, the entrance is round the back.
