Slay Space is Kraków's newest, brightest, and most visible LGBTQIA+ venue: a multi-dimensional restaurant, bar, and club housed on a bright-pink 1889 Dutch cargo barge moored on the Vistula by the Bernatek Footbridge. "Slay Space = Safe Space" is the whole idea: an open, welcoming, hetero-friendly stage for the queer community where colorful food, cotton-candy "slay" cocktails and queer art come together. By day it's a genuinely pleasant spot for lunch and drinks in the sun, on-brand pink pierogi, pink pizza and pink pasta, plus pink lattes and cocktails, in a stylish refitted hold with wooden floors, a sculpted bar and skylights. By night, and there's something on at least four times a week, it turns into a flamboyant party: drag shows, Tuesday drag bingo, burlesque, karaoke, DJ sets until dawn, and outrageous weekend drag brunches up on deck. Kitsch, joyful and inclusive, it's a major step forward for the city and a must for queer Kraków.
