Needless to go into the details, the GAY BEACH of the island bears its name well (the Hot Mouse!). An unspoilt beach, just off the main road, bordered with basaltic coves and natural swimming pools, the Souris Chaude or “Kitou ni ou Cuzo vent” (Creole for “bare bum or bum in the wind”) is also famous for naturism in spite of the municipal prohibition.

Much less visited than the Souris Chaude, it is a black basaltic sand beach. Be careful with the waves and the currents.

Regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, it is also the most stylish with its tanned surfers and girls in bikinis, it is the trendiest in Reunion. Blessed with sumptuous waves which delight the surfers, the currents are rather strong here and it is advised to pay attention to the colour of the flags.

2 km from Boucan Canot is Saint-Gilles-Les-Bains, the seaside resort of the island, its beach framed by an arch of black rocks is also one of the most prized of the island. Here too, be careful with the currents and keep an eye on the flags.

Shortly after Saint-Gilles, the lagoon widens and offers us several kilometres of beach, bordered with filaos and palm trees. A stroll at sunset or enjoying a “cari” whilst sipping on a punch on the terrace of the members of the Gay-Friendly Charter makes this an ideal beach for tourists.
