Sundeck

Sundeck is one of Bern's two gay saunas, a warm, light-filled sauna-and-fitness club on the top floor of a building in the Länggasse quarter, reached discreetly via a rear entrance and run for over forty years. It bills itself as having the largest such offering in Switzerland, with two dry saunas, a steam bath, a whirlpool, a fitness room, relaxation and video cabins, a bar-restaurant, a smoking lounge and a standout rooftop sun terrace. More than half the space is given over to relaxed socializing rather than cruising, drawing a friendly, mixed-age crowd of gay and bi men, and it opens to all genders and sexualities on Fridays. Clean, sociable and easygoing, it's as much a living room for regulars as a place to play.
