Tucked behind the Victoria Centre on St Ann's Street, The New Foresters is Nottingham's oldest LGBT+ bar — and one of the oldest queer venues in the UK (1938), with a historic plaque to prove it. Gay-run and recently given a bright makeover, it's the city's late-night LGBTQ+ home, with drag cabaret, DJs, themed nights, live vocalists and karaoke through the week, plus famously cheap drinks and a sheltered beer garden. Equal parts safe space and party, it's where Nottingham's queer night tends to end up — late license every night, till 2 am at weekends.
