For over twenty years, Club Q was the heart of LGBTQ+ life in Colorado Springs — a safe, affirming home to gather, dance, and be fully oneself. On the night of November 19–20, 2022, an attack on the club took the lives of five members of the community: Daniel Aston, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, Derrick Rump, and Raymond Green Vance — among them two of the club's own beloved bartenders. Today their memory lives on in the tributes left at the original North Academy site and in the year-round memorial wall at the Retro Lounge, the space founded by survivors so Colorado Springs would have a home of its own again. Their light endures.
